When I heard that Primark was releasing a sustainable ‘Wellness’ range, I was sceptical. Sceptical, but intrigued. You see, for about two or three years I avoided Primark like the plague. I completely stopped buying clothes from there unless it was something basic. Think tights, or socks, or underwear! I’d grown very tired of buying things from there just to watch them age like milk and untangle themselves at the seams within weeks of purchasing. After every wash, I noticed my Primark clothes looked noticeably worse, to the point where I was like, ‘why do I even bother buying this stuff’?
That’s not to mention the other controversies surrounding Primark too. I genuinely thought they were one of the worst fast fashion offenders, detrimental to the environment. It seems that over the last few years, Primark has been working hard to shed this unfortunate image and start afresh, and actually… It kind of shows.
Brief Overview of The Primark Wellness Range
I thought I would do a quick overview/review of the range and share my thoughts on the pieces I’ve tired. The range is so much bigger than what I’ve been able to try, so this is just a tiny preview of all the things Primark Wellness has to offer!
The first thing I think everyone notices about the Wellness range is the clearly defined aesthetic. Think beige and white tones, minimalistic, with a hand-made, natural vibe. If you’re lucky enough to live near a flagship store, if you’ve visited the Wellness range in person, you will probably understand what I mean when I say the range even smells good. It’s so weird and unexpected but it really emphasises the tranquil mood that the Wellness range aims to promote. It will probably remind you of the spa.
All of the items in the Primark Wellness range make sense to be in that range. It might just be one of the most cohesive collections I’ve ever seen, actually! Take, for example, the homeware: all of the items relate to places where you would practice self-care, like the bedroom and bathroom. Some stand-out items include a bath tray, towels, and bedding.
As for the clothes, a lot of it was things you would wear when practising self-care, such as activewear, comfies, and sleepwear.
Bedding
When I first saw this bedding I knew right away that I wanted it but didn’t buy it the first time – I returned after a week of not being able to stop thinking about it! It sounds dramatic, but this bedding is everything I wanted. Neutral colours (perfect as a backdrop for indoor Instagram pics!), made of organic, sustainably-farmed cotton, and so cosy to sleep under.
The great thing about white bedding is that it brightens up a dingy room like mine (currently living in my boyfriend’s student room, not very glamorous as you can expect). The bed is now like my safe haven from the old navy carpets, unfortunate-looking furniture, and off-white walls. White is a very motivating colour for me, so now my favourite place to sit and blog is on this pretty Primark bedding!
The bedding comes with a duvet cover and two matching pillowcases. I bought the queen-sized duvet cover for £20.
Towel
I also bought a towel that bears a similar design to the bedding that has this lovely quilted texture. Like the bedding, it is made with organic, sustainable cotton, and is incredibly soft! The towel comes in two sizes, a bath towel and hand towel if I’m correct. I only bought the bath towel to try.
If I didn’t live in a student house, I would definitely keep this towel out on display in the bathroom as a decorative choice. Again, because the colours are so neutral, it would easily fit in with lots of bathroom styles. This makes it sustainable, practical, and pretty!
The bath towels are £8 each.
Nightwear
I bought a couple of nighttime bits from the Wellness range. The first being a white, quilted, short-sleeve dressing gown, as you can probably guess – made from sustainable, organic cotton. I love that it’s all white. This dressing gown is so nice to just lounge around in post-shower. It’s super soft and because it’s short-sleeved, it doesn’t get in the way when I’m washing my face and doing my skincare routine. However, I do have a couple of little gripes with this gown…
The first is that for some reason, Primark thought it would be a good idea to put on only two belt loops… At the sides? I might just be really dumb, but I can’t seem to get it to stay tied up and closed at all. I feel like having three or four belt loops would have made the gown a lot more secure.
My second issue is that it doesn’t seem to be very petite-girl-friendly. Coupled with the fact that the belt is very insecure, I’ve noticed that the chest area just… Falls open. Exposing everything. Sometimes I don’t even notice it, so I have to make an anxious dash across the hall whenever I get out of the shower and put it on! It’s also a little too long for my personal tastes. For petite girls like myself, I feel like a cropped alternative would be a lot more flattering.
The second nightwear item I bought was a cute little nightshirt, made with sustainable cotton. Following the very predictable colour scheme, it is all white. I feel much more secure in the nightshirt than I do the dressing gown, but the other issue still remains. I feel like it’s just a little too long for petite girls like myself.
Dressing Gown £16, Night Shirt £10
Candle
The last little thing I bought from the Primark Wellness range was this cute little Candle! It came in a brown glass jar and is made from soy wax. The candle smells like Blush Jasmine and contains unspecified essential oils.
While the candle does look aesthetically pleasing, I can’t say I actually noticed a smell when it was burning, which surprised me considering how prominent the smell of the Wellness range is in stores. It was actually really disappointing! When smelling it up close (not burning), I could definitely smell the candle, but as soon as it was lit… Nothing?
In the future, I might buy one of the diffusers to see if these work better than the candles, because they really did smell lovely up close. Luckily, it wasn’t much of a loss because the candle was only £2.50!
What Are Your Favourites From The Primark Wellness Range?
Have you tested anything from the Primark Wellness range? What items were your favourite? What do you want to try the most?
Let me know in the comments below! I think I’ll definitely be back to buy more items from the Wellness range. I’m really pleased to see brands like Primark take a step in the right direction, even if it’s only just for a tiny portion of their full inventory. As far as I can tell, Primark is working to make the majority of their clothing with sustainably farmed cotton. This is great news!
Hopefully, Primark will keep developing and listening to consumer concerns. I also hope this sets an example for other fast fashion brands who haven’t yet made conscious efforts to improve.

Love, Flossie ♡

First time seeing the wellness collection yesterday in Pennys dublin and i fell in love, i am not a fan of pennys for the same reason as you! but this was merely a time filling random browsing around and i stumbled onto the wellness collection and can’t stop thinking about how minimal and natural everything was.
i ended up buying a oversized pyjama? top? its really oversized and soft so it could be either sleepwear or everyday but i am in love with it especially since its better quality and minimal so i don’t think i will be sick of it after a month and throw it out ugh..
If there was anything i regret not buying was the bedding as i love the dark grey natural looking style of the duvet it’s something i’d love to try out and see for myself how it is.
